Doctor Biography

Dr. Zahedur Rahman is an eminent Uveitis specialist in Bangladesh. He completed his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1998 . He then completed his fellowship FCPS(Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). He Trained in Ophthalmology at the National Instititute of Ophthalmology & Hospital , Sher-e- Bangla nagar, Dhaka. He went for an observe-ship in Uveitis at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India,with Professor Jyotirmay Biswas, Head of the Department of Uveitis and Ocular Pathology.

Dr. Zahedur Rahman has been working in Uveitis Clinic since 2009 and now working as the Head and Consultant of the “Department of Uveitis and Ocular Immunology” of Bangladesh Eye Hospital. He also worked as Uveitis specialist at Islamia Eye Hospital, Lions Eye Institute and Hospital and OSB Eye Hospital. He is an expert in diagnosis and management of different varieties of Uveitis, Scleritis, different varieties of Immunological Disorders of the Eye and is a pioneer in these fields in Bangladesh. He uses advanced modalities of treatment of uveitis like Intravitreal drugs, immunosuppressives, antivirals , and biologics. He is experienced in Cataract/ Phacosurgery specially in complicated cataract surgery and managing other complications of Uveitis.

Dr. Zahedur Rahman is also active in research and published several papers in local and reputed foreign journals. He regularly attends/present at various eye conferences at home and abroad and runs instruction courses for ophthalmologists. He also delivered lecture as a guest speaker in Uveitis conferences abroad.
