Doctor Biography

Prof. Maj. Gen. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan has completed his MBBS in 1989 from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College under Dhaka University. He obtained Diploma in Ophthalmology in 1998 from National Institute of Ophthalmology. He got his fellowship (FCPS) in 2010 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also qualified in ICO exam in 2011 which is conducted by International Council of Ophthalmology UK. He has done Grading course in Ophthalmology under Armed Forces Medical Institute. He Underwent basic Training in Phaco emulsification at Islamic Eye Hospital, Dhaka in 2011 & Advance Training in Phaco Surgery at Drasty Netralaya Gujarat, India. He has also got basic training in Laser DCR at the same institute. He underwent Integrated Training in LASIK at Bausch & Laumb Laser Vision Center, Ahmedabad, India in 2012. He also completed Fellowship in Glaucoma at Chittagong Eye Infirmary & Training Complex, Pahartoli, Chittagong in 2015.

Dr Kamrul joined Bangladesh Army in 1991. Initially he started his career as a General Duty Medical Officer. He has started his career as an Ophthalmology in 1999. Since then he has been serving in different CMHs. He was deputed to Kuwait Armed Forces in 2004; there he worked as an Ophthalmologist at JABER AL AHMED AL SABAH Armed Forces Hospital, Kuwait from 2004 to 2007. At present he is posted as Adviser Ophthalmologist CMH Dhaka and working as faculty member (Professor & Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Armed Forces Medical College, Dhaka).

Dr. Kamrul is a life member of All India Ophthalmological Society and Asia Pacific Ocular Trauma Society. He attended as an Observer in Glaucoma at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad India in 2015. He also visited many reputed eye hospitals in India as an Observer like Raghudeep Eye Clinic at Ahmedabad India, Center for Sight Hospital, New Delhi, India Schrof Eye Hospital Mumbai India. He attended an workshop on Lasik at VISTA Laser Eye Center, Kualalumpur, Malaysia. Dr Kamrul actively participates in different national and international Ophthalmological conferences like All India Ophthalmological Conference, Asia Pacific Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons Conference etc.

Dr. Kamrul is a life member of Bangladesh Glaucoma Society, Bangladesh society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and Bangladesh Cornea & Refractive Society. He has got a good no publication in different National Journals like JOSB, AFMC journal, AFMI Journal etc. He is also writer Of Health-related topics in National Daily newspaper. He has got good proficiency in spoken Arabic. He is a member of different Golf clubs of the country and plays golf regularly. He is married and by the grace of almighty Allah heads a peaceful family life.
